Bergströmska Homestead Museum

Estate from 1798

The estate managed to survive the great fire of 1798 which saw large parts of Torshälla burn to the ground, and is today one of the few homestead museums that remains on the site where it was originally built. Today the homestead is owned by Torshälla town and maintained by the local history society S:t Olofs Guild.

The homestead museum displays collections and has seasonal program of activities

The homestead museum displays different collections, has an exhibition on textiles and during the summer months the homestead has quite an extensive program of activities including craftsmanship, concerts, a plant fair and traditional flatbread baking. Bergströmska gården is usually open during the major events held in Torshälla, such as the autumn- and Christmas markets.

The homestead is normally open once a week off-season and daily during the summer months. Note that opening hours can vary since the homestead is maintained voluntarily by locals. For current opening hours see webpage.
